I can easily see him losing, especially if the election was held today. Thing is, we don't vote for another couple of years and two years is a long time in politics. I mean, the republican party had an approval rating in the single digits on January 7, 2021 but they still managed win more seats in the house. I don't think we know what the political landscape will be like in 2024 enough to accurately predict an election.

I have no crystal ball. Nor the presumption of even a passably good idea. But I do have a story to tell. In the time leading up to the 2020 Democratic primaries, I threw my support behind Biden. However, when the primaries reached Minnesota, I felt some anxiety over the possibility of a brokered convention, and in order to help avoid that result I voted for Sanders. It was a surprise to me that things for Biden followed the course they did. All the same, I had been correct in picking Biden originally. Which is to say that, the best laid schemes of mice and men gang aft agley, that there is some small consolation in being accidentally right, but not much, and that nobody can say when the fat lady is due to arrive, for she will come like a thief in the night and belt out a tune that is nowhere mentioned in the program.

For someone in cognitive decline he sure had a pretty groovy first half of his first term, ending with the best showing in the mid-terms for a Democratic Party president since the 1930s.

Let me think about this....Joe Biden who is up there in years and sometimes misspeaks ('cause only old age causes that in public speaking /s). Who also probably works harder than most of us since he is working to stifle his stutter....he's old - he has to go. amirite?
Trump was in four years and intentionally said some of the most monumentally stupid things that are way, way beyond misspeaking. Inject some bleach, ram a light up your ass.
Cripes, I am about up to HERE with the ageism on this forum, Hey, Boomer shit.
Old does not = incapable. In fact, in some societies the wisdom of elders is revered.
Fuck.

I wish President Biden the very best in his remaining years, but, as a lifelong Democrat, I value truth more than hope (as an atheist, even more so). In this light, some of President Biden’s missteps (such as the recent 'Where’s Jackie?' episode) are cause for concern.

Maybe you won't be cursed with living to old enough to forget something.
Fuck, sometimes I can't recall why I walked into the kitchen.
I have become so disappointed in you on several levels lately.
And I am done with this topic. I am too pissed off to stay engaged.

Why? For my refusing to not consider the obvious? At age 55 I do sometimes forgot things, plus, my eye sight is going bad. As I have stated (repeatedly and often) Donald Trump may "drop dead" here any day now, which is why, in my "cold" political calculus, DeSantis should be Trump's running mate.
None of this is personal. I am a member of the AARP.

None of this is personal. I am a member of the AARP. De Santis is the chump's "mini-me" (if I understand the reference correctly, as I haven't actually seen the movie). He is NO improvement over the chump, and likely would be worse, given that he actually knows how the gov works, to some extent. AARP membership isn't any kind of distinction, beyond being old.

I support old people! I'm one of them!! Democrats need to think carefully about 2024, though; no chance of not nominating Joe Biden, but, if things start to go downhill, we'll need a Plan B, even if Trump drops dead.

The chump dropping dead before the next presidential election would be a great thing. It's going to take a while, but I expect that the younger generation will eventually replace the older, with a much more liberal bent.
