-The African slave trade
-The persecution of Galileo
-The endorsement and legalization of torture (Counter Reformation)
-The silence to and possible complicity with Hitler’s final solution
-The burning alive of Jan Hus
-The massacre of Byzantine Christians
-The anathema on ALL Eastern Orthodox Christians
-The murder, torture, and forced conversion of orthodox Serbs
-The rape and torture of orphans in Church-run schools

If you hadn’t committed these and other crimes, why would you apologize? And if you didn’t realize the damage you’ve done, why would you beg to be forgiven?

But do please go on about the unceasing kindness and good works of the Holy Mother Church.

Sounds like militants to me.

If it’s not outright militancy, it’s a damned good impression of it (pun intended).

When you get around to taking a Philosophy class, you will find that Utilitarianism is a slippery slope.
So then, you're saying that the "ends justify the means".
I see.

Christianity was no use to half of Europe which died in the plague.
Germany was a Christian nation. It elected Hitler, and voted in National Socialism. Did a lot of good for the millions of Jews.
Russia was a Christian nation. How many people died under Stalin ?

Sorry about this post, but it seemed best here.

The Doctrine of Discovery. After a couple years, (500 or so) the Roman Church (Christianity at the time) repudiated its doctrine which said it was fine for Europeans
to steal from, rape, and murder natives in the New World, and Africa. Such a wonderful valuable contribution to Humanity.

Luke 9:

[49] And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.

[50] And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

Pope Innocent IV, Bulla, "Ad Extirpanda"

The head of state or ruler must force all the heretics whom he has in custody, provided he does so without
killing them or breaking their arms or legs, as actual robbers and murderers of souls and thieves of the
sacraments of God and Christian faith, to confess their errors and accuse other heretics whom they know...

And yet Nishant's claim is that atheism is positively evil. So that make him a Militant Hypocrite.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

That's the problem with Christianity.  Jesus supposedly said "love your neighbor", but he also supposedly said that our lives and bodies are unimportant compared to the afterlife.

If one truly believes in the afterlife, and its supremacy of importance, and one believes that the only way to get there is "correct doctrinal belief", then all manners of torture are justified to someone who leads others to stumble in their belief.  Christianity then becomes an evil death cult.
