RE: Ex-Christian
It goes, it goes.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Not at present. I watch YTs, but my religious reading dried up a couple years ago.

I went to services, but I was probably still half-Pentecostal then.

How did you handle it?
How is life on the other side?

I was raised Pentecostal, and it never occurred to me to doubt anything. I undertook the read the (KJV) Bible as an act of devotion and because I thought I ought to know the Bible. Then I read it again in a Modern English to make sure the King's English hadn't thoroughly confused me. It hadn't. I couldn't reconcile the contents of that Book as connected to a tri-omni Creator. I was particularly appalled by the small children and pregnant women body counts. I became an agnostic theist; I still believed in God, just not the Abrahamic version.

I believed a bunch of other woo too; ESP, Ancient Astronauts, ghosts, Bigfoot, Nessie, pretty much all of it. I started becoming skeptical of those claims and eventually realized there wasn't sufficient evidence to justify believing any of it. In time I came to the same conclusion about God while I was attending university in my mid-thirties and took a course on religion and a course on logical fallacies in the same semester.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

I've been on a late neolithic kick.  Newgrange-Carrowkeel-Carrowmore, and then Bell Beaker replacement.  Solar cults and ancestor worship.

If Christians tell me they don't believe in that God either that makes two of us.

Do you have an idea of what a "God" should be?? (Im thinking a "Good God" btw)

(Seems you're sure what a God shouldn't be)

Psalm 147:5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

Genesis 3:9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

A description of a good god would use only one of those.  Either he would know everything, or he would not know some things.  A god described as simultaneously knowing everything and not knowing some things is a bad good.

I'm trying to think of a word for it.

Integrity I suppose - Whole.  Unified and in harmony??
