There is a reason most of the angels have names which end in - "el", just as Isra-el ends in "el", "walks with El"
Rapha-el, Uri-el., Micha-el. They are the messengers of "El", the chief god of the Babylonians.
In Deuteronomy the "most high god" "portions out" the nations to his sons. The inheritance of Yahweh, (NOT the "most high" god), is given Israel, for his share of the nations.

Elaine Pagels PhD (Princeton) is the recognized expert on the subject of the origins of angels and devils. "See The Origins of Satan".
There are YouTube" lectures on the subject.

I just looked that up.  Deuteronomy 32:8-9 and the verses after clearly state that Yahweh (the Lord) was the god of Israel only, and was not the Most High.

I'm sure that's a error in the text. Somehow the scribes overlooked that, or they would have changed it. It's a big boo-boo.  Hehe

I have a more serious question: why do the accusations of insanity in religious discussions always lack the "reason/cause" of the accusation?

Am I mad and crazy for stating obviously that I believe in a God who made the universe ?
I mean judging from the numbers of believers, I'm not so crazy ! To numbers, I'm..so mainstream !

?
No it's referring to God directly:

Quote:The Bible, 32:8:9

When the Most High divided their inheritance to the nations, When He separated the sons of Adam, He set the boundaries of the peoples According to the number of the children of Israel. For the LORD’s portion is His people; Jacob is the place of His inheritance.

Then there’s 32:12:

Quote:The Lord alone led him; no foreign god was with him.

Note that it doesn’t say ‘false god’, just ‘foreign’. The clear indication is that the author(s) didn’t dispute the existence of other gods.

And again in verse 16:

Quote:They made him jealous with their foreign gods and angered him with their detestable idols.

Don't be stupid. It says the Most High divided the nations, and to a sub-deity, the Most High portioned out Israel to a lesser deity.
Does it say the Most High gave Israel TO HIMSELF ? Nope.
Israel at this point was a polytheistic society. Yahweh had a wife, Ashera. Monotheism did not come in until much later.
What ? You actually know no actual history ?

You are mad and crazy because you are talking mad and crazy shit, not only on the topic of religion. It applies to history and most sciences too. Simple as that.

No foreign god was with him= God was single and alone, that's a monotheistic admission.

Quote:They made him jealous with their foreign gods and angered him with their detestable idols.

Another admission that they "worshiped" foreign Gods, he didnt say that these Gods even exist!!
