Apparently the power is out, and the building is on generator. The generator is new, and it's a lot quieter than the old generator.

So I have power everywhere but in the bathroom. It's so weird.

It's not banned here. I worked with a Aussie ex-pat who used to bring the stuff to work with her, purchased here. She got me to try it and it really wasn't as bad as it's made out to be. Not something I'll buy, but not horribly disgusting either.
