Late yesterday and earlier this evening, I had been trying to make sense of how the author in my abstract algebra book reached his conclusion regarding a particular result concerning ideals. I wasn't making any headway tonight, so I decided to get in some exercise and showered afterwards. Immediately as I was stepping out of the shower, the light bulb went off (figuratively speaking), and I remembered a corollary in a previous chapter, which allowed me to make sense of the author's reasoning and conclusion. It's funny how that happens sometimes.

Why must 4:30 am come so early in the morning?

I couldn't tell you how many sleepless nights I have spent sweating over a problem, derivation or proof that just blazed into my mind when I was in the shower, shaving or driving someplace. That sort of solution just sort of bubbles up from (seemingly) nowhere. In my personal estimation, that sort of solution is what causes xtians to believe it is from the divine. As further evidence, I will submit that sometimes when I have had that "revelation", that I couldn't replicate it later, without more deep reflection, and cemented it into my memory. I could be all wet with that, but it does make a sort of sense. Feel free to shred it and straighten me out. Polymath257 (or Dr H, too now that he is here!) are cordially invited to do the same.
OK, I hosed the quote function, somehow.

Always carry a knife, in case there's cheesecake or someone needs stabbing in the face.

OMGoddess, I am so over that place.
Also:
I suppose 60 is the new 45. No, I am not referring to age. Where are the cops stopping people from doing 60 mph on a 45 mph road as though they think they are on a racetrack?

Now I understand why theists think 'Murica is so great. If money is the root of all evil and 'Murica is in major debt, surely 'Murica isn't evil.

I cannot for the life of me picture a 4-dimensional cube in my head, but math-wise it's a piece of cake to calculate its volume. To the power of math.

What a horrible existence it must be to live as a shit-filled diaper.
