I was once patting the cat, who was purring and happy. Until he suddenly decided to bite my hand.
Hard enough to draw blood.
The look of disgust he gave me when I grabbed his tail and bit him back...

I'm convinced my wife has trained all of the cats to pretend to be hungry and demand to be fed during my day-sleep. I grumblingly get up, rinse out all their food and water dishes, and put down fresh stuff, which they studiously ignore.
Boru
Blue, the cat, never wakes me up. His method is to herd me to his food bowl. He waits outside the bathroom door for me and won't let me pass the office where his bowl is. Mind you, the food bowl can be full but he still wants me to check it.
Ziggy has to have multiple invitations to come back into the house. Even if he's sitting right outside the door, he won't come in till he's damn good and ready.
It's quite obvious around here who has who trained and it's not the people who are in charge.

Our dogs know where all the magical doors are and sit in front of them until accessed for their benefit.

Just found out that a much younger cousin has been diagnosed with breast cancer. We have a pretty small family on both sides and seem to be well above the average with cases. Her mother (who married into the family) had breast cancer several years ago and is still with us. My mother was diagnosed at 52 as was I. It's an early diagnosis so hopefully cousin is going to live to tell just like the others of us have.

I'm so glad I was allowed to live a good life and not be some freak.

Sorry to hear that. Has the family been tested for BRCA?

I know she has...and I was during my breast cancer journey...my results were negative. Weird...you would think since my mother and I both had it that it would have been linked genetically.

It still might be, just not the BRCA's.
