As I get older, though I no longer organize my thinking along Taoist lines, I realize that my embracing Taoism when I was younger has yielded significant benefits. I'm much more open and accepting of differences than I suspect I would have been otherwise. And though I only notice it in hindsight, my whole approach to the world and learning is organized along Taoist lines, even though I don't consider myself a practicing Taoist.

I had my own assignment at work last night. I felt a little overwhelmed at first, but then I pushed myself to do what needed to be done. At least now I know I can handle it.

Now to enjoy my weekend off.

The NFL channel has been airing non-stop installments about training camp lately, and no rebroadcasts of football games. I realize they have to stretch their content any way they know how, given that it's a little bit overblown to have 24/7 coverage of football, but I miss watching actual football. I could give a rat's ass what happens in training camp, especially when it's not my team!
