Watching the fourth part of KrimsonRogue's review of Empress Theresa, which may be one of the worst books ever written.

For whatever reason, some of the math issues are intriguing to me:
  • Apparently, Theresa's solutions to the rising of the ocean levels is to (I shit you not) send a cubic mile of water into space every three minutes for a year. The spiriting away of 175,200 cubic miles of ocean water, as massive an undertaking as this would be, is, for lack of a better term, a drop in the bucket, because the world's oceans have 321 million cubic miles of water. To put this into perspective, I carry around a water bottle with an advertised capacity I can't remember at the moment. However, it was easy enough to take the actual capacity, which was 867 grams, equivalent to a little over 30.5 oz. That 175,200 cubic miles in the grand scheme of things would be the eqivalent of a bit less than half a millileter, roughly the size of 9 1/2 drops. Somehow, Krimson didn't notice how low this would really be.
  • Theresa's husband drinks six Liter mugs of beer at Oktoberfest. This is about three times the capacity of the human stomach. Steve should be puking his guts out even before the alcohol kills him. And, yes, I checked this. 6 Liters of 6% beer (the most common ABV I found for Oktoberfest beer) should be the equivalent to 20 12 oz 5% beer. I consulted a BAC calculator, and, unless he's incredibly overweight, well, Mistah Hartley--- he dead.
  • Somehow, half a billion people constitutes most of Asia. A continent that claims the home of both nations with population of over a billion.
  • The state of Israel decides to evacuate, eventually to a Star of David-shaped island Doh , but until it becomes habitable, they have to temporarily stay in Crete. 8.712 million people staying on an island with a population of 633,506. The infrastructure issues would have to be insane.
But then again, this is a book where Theresa can somehow extract material from the fucking sun.

Are we really the apex animal of earth when a lifeform so insignificant it's not even considered life has brought us and our economy to our knees.

I miss terrorism and Al-Qaeda... Life was so simple them. You have an enemy, you bomb them ....time for donuts.
This new enemy is too itsy bitsy for hellfires and sidewinders.

Just got another email from Kevin@ Universes R Us.

He told me that he traced this virus to a parallel universe only one dimension away. Still not sure how it breached.
He said we also got out of it lightly. The Parallel earth on the other side is already void of human life because the virus found a way to infect via peoples dreams.

Kevin, get fucked, stop emailing me!

If it was a dream, no apology. If it was a nightmare, congratulations, you're back!  Hehe

Here's a funny random thought.

We are calling covid19 the Wuhan or China virus.
The US left are offended because the virus doesn't even speak Chinese!

I was in Wally World yesterday, seeking catnip goodie for the moose. I went down the dog food aisle, shortcut, and encountered two very old folks examining the label on a can of dog food. He wasn't dressed for the weather and she was wearing a very large coat, more suitable for a man. They stood very close together. I heard her say "Doesn't say not safe for human consumption." He replied "How many can we get?" She didn't reply but didn't look happy.

I circled around to the next aisle and made prep for a quick dash past them. I had $40 in cash and they didn't see me drop it in their cart. Good luck to ya, seniors.

RE: Random Thoughts
When I was twelve I noticed my neighbors hadn't mowed their lawn lately. They were quite old but he was proud of still be able to take care of his place. So I went over and knocked on their door. I immediately noticed a very bad smell. I turned the knob and door opened, so I went in to check. He and his wife were on the kitchen floor, dead over two weeks. The cops told me that it appeared he had had a heart attack or stroke and she was trying to help him and went down herself. They died holding hands. That imagine has stuck with me for over half a century.
