That's going to happen anywhere. Over 50 years ago, I remember running over a cat that ran across the street, that left me no time to even apply the brakes. It was an "alley cat", that likely ate rats and such out of dumpsters, based on the stench. I stopped by a car wash that had a pressure hose and got most of the stink off my car. No way I could have missed it. No matter where you live, shit you don't like will be there. Got to trade off what you can take, is all. #cynic

I left Catholicism willingly, I don't blame my parents for that, but I feel as if they could be more faithful Catholics themselves. Being on the outside looking in, I can see how my parents are lazy about their faith, and it bothers me.

Was fandoms ever toxic or did it become this way becuase of the internet? One of the reasons why I'm not on most social media is becuase of fans. And while not participating with the mob does leave you to freely enjoy and analyze the stuff you're into it is also quite alienating.
