Unlike almost everyone else around me in this field, I do not suffer in silence.

If you are driving down the hughway, and a minivan, with out of state plates goes around you, you are driving too slow.
'Tis the time of year when people are extra grumpy and griping about customer service. I had a different experience yesterday. I ordered some food to be delivered. Normally I request they leave the order at the door and ring the bell so I can corral the dogs. Yesterday I saw the driver pull up and, without thinking, I opened the door to meet him there. He handed me the food and Harley the Whirling Dervish scampered out the door. I let out a little yelp and turned to set the food down on the window seat. When I turned back around the young man had spun back around, crouched down, and had his arms out to his sides. This startled Harley so much she just stopped. I was able to grab her and get her back in the house without a chase through the neighborhood.
I thanked him and then found the email for the restaurant and sent them a thank you note for this young man going above and beyond. This morning I had an email from the owner of the restaurant thanking me and assuring me that they would share the compliment with the team and the delivery guy in particular. I'm glad I had already left a nice tip...a little bigger than I usually would. You mean, the delivery guy was doing like, a welcoming gesture? Like a, "there's my boy/girl!" kind of thing?

Do gay guys ever get a vasectomy?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Physically, I am forty-four years of age. Mentally, I feel at least twenty years older than that.
Intellectually, I consider myself to be as mature as I feel physically. Emotionally, I possess the volatile nature of a teenager.
