I'm going to Guitar Center today, I highly doubt it but I'm going to see if I can find a decent electric guitar for an affordable price. Of course, even if I do find one, I still have to get an amp, and a good amp isn't cheap.

You can get a player pack (amp and guitar) for $300-$400. Not top of the line, obviously, but suitable for learning.

Alternately, I’ve got a 1959 Gretsch 6122 I’ll let you have for $12k. Free shipping and I’ll throw in an amp. PM me.

I wouldn't bother with the player pack, the amps are trash. I recommend a headphone amp and wait to buy a decent amp.

Entry level guitars are pretty decent these days.
