I can totes understand killing an out of control, dangerous dog. But I can understand it 70 or 80 years ago when there weren’t veterinarians ten minutes away to do it for you, when there weren’t options to professionally train or re-home the animal, etc. I can’t understand doing out of convenience, because you couldn’t be arsed to take more appropriate measures.

Honestly, though, her shooting the goat bothers me more than her shooting the dog.

Most dogs are controllable if handled by someone with a damn clue. Not to mention there are medications that will calm a dog down.

If all else fails...even rescue organizations...there are more humane ways to put a dog down.

A 14 month old of that breed is still a puppy.

There's an old shcool farmers/ranchers motto that basically say's once a dog kills it will always kill. Not saying it's right to then kill the dog, our female is a killer.

My wimpy little spoiled spaniels will kill a squirrel if given half a chance.

I know, I have had to pry jaws open to remove fur, guts, and blood.

As far from wolves as my dogs are, they still retain some of the instinct to hunt prey.
