After getting a call from my boss on my birthday letting me know that she has given me a pay raise, I received a birthday card from her containing an Amazon gift card. Her words in the card let me know how much she appreciates me.

I am very lucky to have a boss who not only recognizes my contributions to her company but who has also become a good friend.

We're lucky if we get pizza at work.

Summer is a time where brands and corporation get to explore a seasonal menu and some experiments sound more out of the ordinary than others. One interesting new summer concept was introduced by Nissin Foods as it announces Cup Noodles Campfire S'mores ramen noodles flavor.

Nissin Foods announced its "gooey, sweet noodle experience" on Monday that will exclusively be sold at Walmart.

The "limited edition" savory snack is described as "unmistakable blend of decadent chocolate, marshmallow and graham cracker flavors with a smokey note." Like other ramen flavors made by Nissin, the Campfire S'mores include natural and artificial flavors.

All I need to do is "visualize" some biscuits and gravy and I can have myself a nice breakfast! Unless of course I can't do that, in which case I'll be having Fruity Pebbles for breakfast. You know what, skip the cereal, I'm not hungry.

My ocular migraine rainbow lightening bolts are annoying me this morning.

I notice that as I get older (68), I get just as many (if not more) migraine-preceding visual auras (mine are skittering chevrons*), but the subsequent headache is far less severe.

I still feel hungover for about 18 hours, though.

I'll take it...it's far better than needing to lie down in a dark room and writhe in pain for six hours.

*Interesting observation: "Skittering chevrons" is how i would describe the visual hallucinations I had when on 'shrooms.

Years ago my doctor told me that my rather frequent migraines would probably lessen when I went through menopause. At the time I told him I wasn't sure that was a great trade.

Now the two or three a year are so much better than the multiple times a month. I would lose two days when one hit...the day of and the recovery day after.

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that my trigger is serotonin and its precursor chemicals.
