Is the eyepatch permanent or temporary? If the former, what's the story there?

Permanent. I got blown up when I was 17.

Once again I am awake at an absurdly early hour. It's either husband getting ready for work, the dogs, or my bladder that cause this ridiculous early awakening. I just can't wait till this weekend when the clocks go back, here in the US, so that I can start my day even earlier. UGH

My granddaughter and her boyfriend are going out for Halloween dressed as Hugh Hefner and a playboy bunny. The twist being that The Bail is going as Hugh and her (shorter) boyfriend is going as the playboy bunny. Hoping to see some pics of this...or maybe not. Wink

Quote:Thirty years after its release in 1994, that song, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” has become one of the longest-charting singles in any genre, spending 65 weeks on Billboard’s Hot 100, and perhaps the best-known original holiday song of the last half-century. The album, “Merry Christmas,” has sold 18 million copies and would become synonymous with the season, blasting from cars, mall speakers and party playlists, and cementing Carey’s role as the Queen of Christmas. And the season? Well, that begins on Nov. 1 — when Carey has declared, “It’s time.”

In Deep Space Nine, Sisko generally cooks his own meals, claiming it tastes better than replicated food, but wouldn’t he get the ingredients from a replicator?

Maybe AF could have a Versus subforum where people could vote and discuss who would win in a fight of Chewbacca vs Bigfoot, Predator vs Pocahontas, and similar.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

RE: Random Thoughts
A lot of resentment Christians have for atheists probably comes from the reason that Christians have to waste a lot of time on their religion, be it sitting at mass, believing in absurdities, or making offerings, while atheists don't have to do any of that and get away without any consequences.
