I lived in Europe for 30 years. In all that time, I never saw a place called Croatia, never met a Croatian person, never heard anyone speak Croatian. Therefore, it is reasonable to conclude that Croatia, Croatian people, and the Croatian language don’t exist.

And, if you heard somebody speaking Croatian, how would you know? You probably heard spoken Croatian (or a closely related language), but just don't know that.
