OK.  I'm sure there's a degree of tribalism in some behavior of some people on those sides.  But it doesn't seem particularly pronounced anymore than other divides, like sports teams or politics or nationality.  If anything it seems far more about substantive issues.

Here's the thing . . . and I vaguely remember you from when I first came here briefly. We had some interesting discussions. I don't recall if it went south as it always does, or I just got bored and left* but I have never had anything against science, but at the same time I've never had any interest in it. To me a dinosaur is a big lizard (taught that in old school, turns out it may have been a big chicken).Space, which is God's creation, is beautiful - for about 20 seconds. To me. But if I were temporary steward over the entire world until Jehovah sets up his kingdom, I would destroy politics and organized religion by taking away their financial incentive, money, fractional reserve banking, etc. and give science and technology, now uncorrupted, the power to provide for every man, woman and child on the planet. AND I would make it so any subsequent temporary ruler wouldn't be allowed to interfere with it with any other corrupted vehicle. The corrupted world is a dragon. The solution to the dragon isn't to fight or tame it, the solution is to starve it.

What I'm hearing is that you value science and technology. That's why it's a gettable. That's why you want it "in your hands".
