It is connected to the concept of faith healing.

Well it's not God's job to heal amputees in the first place, not sure how that got stuck in some people's heads.

Luke 22:

[50] And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.

[51] And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.

Ok yeah but that's what the Bible says. Why do you care what the Bible says?

I already told you: the god I don't believe in is the god described by the Bible.  If you want me to check out whether your god is plausible you need to write your own Bible.

As long as there is plenty of gay sex, it is one Bible I can get behind.

Why would it matter what the Bible says if you don't believe in the God of the Bible? What about Allah? Is He more credible than the Bible God? Less? Same?

What does it mean for something to be "as good as real?"

idiot really really want to pretend it is real and lashes out at anyone not so blighted.

Christians in Palestine call God Allah.  Turns out Allah means "God" in Arabic, strangely enough.

It matters what the Bible says because people have a tendency to force other people to live according to what the Bible says. Pointing out the absurdities in the Bible is meant to show that this is a really stupid idea.

Your religious beliefs inform YOU as to what is right or wrong, good or bad, allowed or disallowed. They do not do the same for me.
