Hamas fights Israel because they want power and hating Israel is how they keep it. They don't fight for anyone but themselves. Nor does Israel by the way. There, even in shame, is the difference. Israel feels the need to make excuses and hide. If hamas blew up a hospital they'd be dancing on the rooftops.

I am reserving judgment over the hospital bombing. It may have been Islamic Jihad, or it may have been Israel. I don't think we will ever know, unless the U.S. has intelligence and is willing to release it. Without independent investigators at the site, anything found could have come from another location.

Hamaas has achieved its goals. They were never going to achieve a military victory. Their purpose was to keep the hatred going, and provide another generation of recruits. They showed how easy it was to slaughter Israelis, and they are hoping the blood-lust of other terrorist groups will get them to join in a new terrorist fight against Israel.

Even peaceful protests have one goal - to make sure the world takes notice. If the "powers that be" overreact (i.e. bloodshed), that is even better. Well, Hamaas has made Israel overreact. The Arab world sees Israel's vow of vengence as proof Israel hates them, not one of justice.

I honestly hope that every terrorist involved in planning or carrying out the attack in Israel gets killed, but Israel is on the verge of totally messing up.

Always disbelieve any claims from a war zone. Propaganda is just another tool of war.
