Now there's a major problem with Tesla's newest vehicle, the Cybertruck, which has apparently forced the company to halt production, sales, and deliveries.

While Tesla has yet to confirm the problem, some Tesla Cybertruck owners have reported on social media that they have experienced a major safety issue in which the accelerator pedal gets stuck when it's being pressed down.

One Cybertruck owner uploaded a video on TikTok to demonstrate what's going on with the accelerator. It appears a pedal cover is coming loose and sliding up the pedal. It can then reportedly get wedged in an indent on the floor of the Cybertruck. This issue happens when the accelerator is pushed all the way down causing the vehicle to go "full throttle," as the Cybertruck owner in the video puts it. The individual says he was able to stop the vehicle by holding down the brake pedal, which overrides the acceleration pedal, but the Cybertruck would immediately accelerate again if he took his foot off the brake.

I saw a cybertruck here locally about two months ago. Can't carry much -- which is a truck's job, after all -- by volume, even as the vehicle itself is huge. A paean to rich rednecks, it's an updated compensation machine.

I doubt any Tesla truck would ever haul 800 lbs of gravel like my little 4-banger truck did last week. Folks with that money don't do their own work, after all. Heaven forbid they should scratch the stainless steel.

I don't care what his diagnoses are. Take his meds and stop trying to shut up his critics.

As someone on the spectrum (professionally diagnosed in my youth), I can say that meds for autism are not a thing. You just go to therapy and try to find ways to cope with the neurotypical world. And if he’s also a narcissist (something I know from my mother), that’s pretty much impossible to treat. No meds AND the patient doesn’t think the problem lies with them.
