Elon Musk is very intelligent but his greatest super power is gall, pure and simple. He attempts things others wouldn't dare. He succeeded against all odds with electric cars and reusable rockets by sheer hubris. He'll do the same with destroying the government unless he is met by equal hubris. The democrats need to hit back fast and HARD.

Hagiography. He did well at tesla buy buying into a good product, nepo rolling his cousins solar business into it, then going hat in hand to the fed like a common corporate welfare queen. You vastly underestimate him. He certainly DOES know what the fuck he is doing. Do the research.

The odds stacked against him with Tesla and SpaceX were ridiculous. He took on the multi-$billion automotive industry with less than $100 million and forced a change in the industry. EVs are well past the tipping point now. Against the wishes of the legacy auto manufacturers and even the oil companies, combustion engine cars are dead. The writing is on the wall. The future is electric.

He achieved practical, economical, reusable rockets when most engineers in the business insisted that that was flat-out impossible. Falcon 9 has now launched and recovered nearly 400 boosters and still, nobody else has a reusable system 15 years later. And now he is well on his way to achieving a reusable rocket system in starship that will reduce launch costs/kilogram by an order of magnitude > Falcon 9.

Musk is VERY capable. If he directs his abilities against the common good as he now seems hell-bent to do, he had BETTER be taken seriously and opposed to the max.

Musk didn't do any of that shit. We see what happens when musk is actually doing something. Xitter. If he hadn't engineered a board of bootlickers he'd have been out on his ass long ago, leaving some other poor sucker to deal with the collapse of his overvalued personal wealth bubble.

These people aren't bond villains. It's not extra dimensional chess. They're exactly as stupid as they routinely prove themselves to be. Even when they explicitly go out to do some shitty thing they fuck it up, and the fuckup is worse.

Musk didn't do any of that shit.

Really? Who did it then? His employees? Sure but Musk set it all up. He directed it. No CEO does it all by his/her self.

Are you really so deluded to believe that what he accomplished wasn't extraordinary? Why didn't you do it? Why didn't countless others with more ambition than you do it? There are countless others who would love to be the richest man in the world. Even to be a lousy millionaire. But it's not that easy.

Musk didn't "set it all up" either. He wedged his foot in the door with his daddy's money and has been guzzling at the public trough, breaking laws the whole way, ever since. We mythologize the rich. Wanting to be them doesn't make them smart. Their being wealthy does not mean they work hard.

You're right. There are people more ambitious than me. People more ambitious than musk, too. People smarter than either of us who work harder than both of us combined. You're right. They are not rich. Reflect on that. Or just look at how he tried to destroy the government. A team of children who for all we know are unpaid interns..and loudly. Can't shut up about it, and every xit will be some prosecutors exhibit at some future day where the coup failed... again.... because musk..and donald too, are fuckups. They've been fuckups failing upward for their entire lives.

Musk's "daddy" didn't have a lot of money. Again, do the research for yourself rather than parrot bullshit others have been spouting. He earned $millions on his own. He slept on the floor of his factories until the point he was nearly bankrupt. He worked his ass off to the point where most of us would have lost it. The information is out there. Read it.

He got a $400 million federal loan from the federal government (which he paid back with interest) to keep Tesla going for obvious reasons: It is in the nation's best interest to develop electric vehicles which can be powered entirely by solar panels rather than foreign oil. It also put America in a leadership position on technology which is obviously the future.

He got contracts for replacing Russian rockets to the international space station and became the first private company to launch humans to orbit. He beat competitor Boeing by > 6 years.

You don't like the guy? I get it. I don't like him (anymore) either. I wouldn't shed a tear if he suddenly died of lead poisoning. But take advice from Sun Tzu and know your enemy.

A quick reality check from someone who is working in the automotive industry.

First off all: it's no secret that Teslas are rather mediocre engineered vehicles. Musk just slapped a lot of stuff from his suppliers together and ads some AM functionality.

The global market for el. vehicles has only moderate increase and this increase is predominantly in china. In Germany it's even in decline, leading to a national crisis, but I digress..

Now, is Tesla selling all those BEVs in china? No, because BYD, a Chinese car maker, is almost on par with Tesla in terms of sales. Want to make a guess where BYD Is selling all its vehicles?

If any entity is driving the global BEV market it's china and BDY is doing the sales there.

Btw: did you know that in order to sell an electronic control unit to a Chinese car maker, it MUST consist of at least 25% (or so) electronic parts from china., per LAW.

Musk isn't the elephant in the automotive room, china is, and I am usually NOT part of the group that likes to spread panic about china.
