It's just Elon being a fascist again and gaslighting people.
Quote:Billionaire Elon Musk on Sunday (local time) reacted to the White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) dinner shooting, which occurred on Saturday night at the Washington Hilton hotel. So, remember this when someone tells you next time that we need to take this guy seriously.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Would you take him seriously? if he told you he found a cure for cancer, I doubt you would. I wouldn't either. If he threatened to knock you out however, I would highly advise you take him seriously. Do you comprehend? A blanket statement to not take any particular person seriously is questionable. Making such a statement about a person who has already made multiple revolutionary achievements is idiotic.

The people who actually invented the things and did the engineering work to have musk get credit for their achievements would be super happy to know that no one is saying we shouldn't take them seriously. Just the carnival barker with the fashy fetish.
Guys out there pitching ai in space right now, even as his company says it's a pipe dream, officially.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Just the carnival barker with the fashy fetish. None of the things Musk's engineers, technicians and laborers created would have happened without him. Surely you must understand that. No Elon Musk, no electric car makers outside of China. No Elon Musk, no reusable orbital rockets delivering payloads to orbit for a tenth of the cost it once was. No Elon Musk, no Starlink delivering internet access to anywhere on the planet. I don't know why I have to keep pointing out these facts. We are all atheists and if there is anything we all have in common, it's that we value objective facts over emotional attachments. Elon Musk is the latest in a long line of supreme assholes that nevertheless contributed greatly to society. Denying his contribution is denying reality.

Elon Musk's SpaceX is gearing up to launch the biggest IPO in stock market history, which could value the business at $1.75 trillion. But when Reuters had a look at the filing documents, it turned out that valuation is riding on technology that hasn't been proven to work.
"Elon Musk's whole business model is about getting investors to believe in his vision of the future. Tesla's high stock price isn't about electric car sales. It's because investors believe Musk can deliver humanoid robots and self-driving cars. If Elon Musk's many fans believe he can take them into orbit, he may not need proven technology to take SpaceX's valuation into the stratosphere."

Isn’t it odd how Elon says we won’t need money in the future but he wants $10t for himself?

He then risked the entire enterprise to bail out his cousins dying solar enterprise - both of which currently getting their lunch eaten by chinese producers with a better product. Tom Mueller is who you have to thank for the falcon 9...his merlin itself based on the principles learned from the lunar descent module, most of that process occurring at a company called TRW. He's currently trying to tank spacex - which exists largely because of the us taxpayer. Cubesats were the brainchild of Bob Twiggs and Jordi Puig Suari of Stanford and Cal Poly, respectively. Starlink is, ofc, indispensible to the goal of guiding russian missiles into ukranian maternity wards. Yes, we're all atheists, but atheists aren't particularly immune to hero worship. His contribution was money, it's always money. He got extremely lucky in the dotcom bubble. There are your objective facts. Additionally, and continuing to speak objectively, he is using that money...more and more of it our money, his only real contribution to anything...to destroy the united states, fresh off a manic bout of murdering people in not hereistan. It would not surprise me to find him listed in some future textbook as having greatly contributed something to humanity...but probably not what you're thinking of.

What a sad, unloved, lonely man.

As further evidence that Musk doesn't understand How Things Work, he signaled support for Warren Buffet's (who should have known better) idiotic plan to eliminate the US national debt.
