It's just theoretical military math. With a population of over 1.2 billion people, China has a potential manpower base of another 200 million males. But there is no indication they are actually building up their army like that, and it would take extraordinary circumstances for them to.

What you're talking about is really just the largest theoretical active military they could create at their peak potential. It's something the defense industry says to scare Congress into giving them more money, not a genuine stat.

Aegon, it's not even theoretical. What do you think would happen to China's economy if 200 million people of draft age were suddenly taken out of the factories and shops? Economic strength is the foundation of military strength.

This thread is absurd.

I read somewhere once, that any and all stackhouses, have to give me twice their earnings. I can't recall exactly where I read it, but it has to be true. Because you are a stackhouse and I am me, that CANNOT be coincidental.

PM me to hand it over.

In 2019, the total labor force in China was approximately 800 million people... so 200 million would be approximately 25% of the labor force. For comparison, in the US during WWII, about 20% of the adult male population served

So do you think they'd like to kill 25% of their economy to march to Israel, just 'cause?

I don't. They don't give two shits rubbed together about Israel compared to Taiwan. "Hey, let's sandbag our economy so we might march through Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, and Syria, because ... wait for it .. the Bible"?

Yeah, I don't think so. They aren't stupid.

As for US mobilization of both economy and military, in 1941 we had an enormous untapped labor pool: women. Do you think that obtains in modern China? And remember, we only mobilized 12 millions for WWII. That's a little shy of, you know, 200 millions, so equipping, feeding, and fueling them is, let us say, a tad easier.

Your percentage argument doesn't hold water. Those 200 million marching to Israel need beans and bullets ... if China wanted to do that, which they don't.

Absurd.

Thump, your point is blindingly obvious - Why is anyone considering China as a possible player in any Israel-versus-the-world showdown? They have much larger Christian and Muslim minorities to worry about within their own borders, and Israel isn't sitting on any large cache of resources that China might want.

The only possible thing they might gain from such a conflict is via selling materiel to other combatants, so the smart move would be to stay out of it, and keep their factories running and their own population out of harm's way.

Whoever thinks up these daft Biblical prophesies needs a remedial course in geopolitics and common sense.

That passage also says that the army were mounted on lion-headed horses that breathed fire, smoke, and sulphur. When China supplies its troops with such mounts, I’ll consider the prophecy explanation.

There’s also no possible way for China to field 200 million soldiers.

It's not really a lion head, but the rest matches quite well
