Quote:Most Atheists have a personal reason as to why they do not believe in following a religion that is centered on God or gods.
I am so tired of reading this statement. It makes me want to go out and eat babies like the devout atheist I am.

Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Atheism is a religion like not collecting stamps is a hobby. I don't even know why it was included on a website talking about religions. I could have summed it up in a couple of sentences: "Atheists do not believe in any gods. They have a wide range of varying beliefs and personal philosophies, but none of them invoke belief in a deity."
At least they didn't include the typical fundie line that all atheists are evil, immoral, and are going to burn in hell for eternity.

It makes me wonder how any form of atheism could spring forth from Christianity.

Completely joking, Padilove. Ever since I started going to the gym, I seem to have lost about 90% of my desire to drink anything with alcohol in it, and I wasn't a huge drinker beforehand. My housemate and my lover-man noticed the same thing about themselves as well.
