I blame it on the incinerated meat I ate growing up. My mother was so afraid of trichinosis that she burned all meat.
Seriously folks. It's a bit of work for a necessary result. Do it.
Didn't say I wouldn't. As for chapped ass, Vaseline is a good preventive. By the time the Hershey squirts wore off, I had just propped myself in position so that I didn't fall of the throne and slept there (fitfully).

I'm supposed to get them every three years, but it's been six now. I had no problem with the prep, but when I asked last year, I was told there's a 6 month deferral from donating plasma. I'll check again, but that constrains when I can get it, as I spend a lot and I'll have to plan out the financial aspect.

I recall a comparison between living in the American cities of Cleveland and Detroit. Cleveland is generally favored over Detroit - in the same way that a colonoscopy is preferable to hemorrhoid surgery.
I have avoided a colonoscopy for years now. I'm 65 years-old. Just can't bring myself to endure the prep or the indignity. I'm largely vegetarian which lowers my risk factor quite a bit. Still, I know I may live to regret it.

There are other screening options that you can use.

Nanny, I forgot to ask you, would you rather have another colonoscopy or attend a lecture by William Lane Craig?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
