Contraception Begins at Erection

Contraception Begins at Erection

Just goes to show that not only Republicans are fucking insane.

"Mississippi state Sen. Bradford Blackmon, a Democrat, introduced a bill this week that would seemingly ban men from masturbating or engaging in other sexual acts when they have no "intent to fertilize an embryo."

The bill, titled the "Contraception Begins at Erection Act," would make it unlawful for "a person to discharge genetic material without the intent to fertilize an embryo." It includes exceptions for sperm donation and using contraception to prevent fertilization."

I'm guessing they meant Conception Begins at Erection Act but who knows. We're definitely not talking about brain scientists here.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Certainly sounds like something from The Handmaid's Tale.

And so it begins....

An example of the reich wing media at work. This one goes in the bothsides pile.

Quote:You have male dominated legislatures in Mississippi and all over the country that pass laws that dictate what a woman can and cannot do with her body....I was raised by strong parents that preached equality for all. My mother and my father both believe in equal rights for women … When a bill has been filed that would regulate what a man is able to do with his own body in his own home, it suddenly has people in an uproar. I am trying to figure out when it isn't okay for the government to dictate what you do in the privacy of your own home, apparently it is when the laws regulate men.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

But you also have to wonder: how are they going to know if you're masturbating in the privacy of your own home?

Officer Smith is going to be so proud to be assigned to The Jizz Squad. Evidence collection should be the high point of his day.

I guess it will ruffle some feathers if someone tries to control men's bodies in a similar manner to how they are controlling women's bodies. Wonder if there will be an 800 number you can call of you suspect a man of washing himself too much. Seems fair to me now that women are being advised to remove cycle tracker apps from their phones.

I suspect this is about making a political point rather than enacting any practical measure. Outlawing masturbation by using conservative talking points about sex being solely for reproduction appears designed to force a vote rather than actually wanting to outlaw fapping.

Owning a flock of sheep is starting to sound pretty good.

Do sheep come in flocks? (And no, not that kind of 'come'.)
