RE: White Smoke
Steve Bannon has employed his awesome psychic powers to predict that ‘there may be friction’ between Pope Leo XIV and Trump.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

And yet his sheep still think that he's all about spirituality and following a poor guy who said to sell everything you have because god will find ways to feed you like he does with the birds in a wild, and that it's the atheists who are materialistic.

Quote:Pope Leo XIV just took the top job in the Catholic Church—and the role comes with a $33,000-a-month paycheck

Pope Leo XIV has been elected as the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, and the job comes with a $33,000 monthly paycheck. That pay stacks up to the salaries of U.S. presidents and university chancellors—but the pontiff also gets unique perks like free meals all day, a Popemobile, his own private pharmacy and more.

The pope is revered as the highest and most holiest leader of the Catholic Church, which has over a billion members. And the Vatican makes sure the pontiff can lead in style.

For one, the pope usually lives in the gilded Apostolic Palace—lavish living arrangements with all expenses covered by the Vatican. All of his meals and day-to-day necessities are also free of charge for the pope, with unfettered access to custom, hand-tailored regalia made by top religious outfitters.

Pope Leo XIV will also have access to the Popemobile, private cars, and a fleet of vehicles at the drop of a hat. The pontiff also doesn’t have to worry about security, healthcare, or retirement anymore. He has free access to Vatican medical services and a private pharmacy to ensure a healthy, long reign.

For example, Benedict made additional money by writing and selling his bestseller books to his sheep.

Just seen the headline, "Pope Leo appeals for no more war in first Sunday address" does anyone think it make the slightest difference?

So, this new pope is not particularly gay-friendly after all, and some gay Catholics may leave the Church.

Quote:Pope Leo XIV‘s recent elevation to the papacy has sparked significant concerns for many LGBTQ+ Catholics, particularly in light of past comments he made.

Following his appointment, a troubling comment he made 13 years ago resurfaced, where he dismissed LGBTQ+ identities as a “lifestyle choice.” For those who had been welcomed back to the Church under Pope Francis’s inclusive approach, this remark raised alarms about what Pope Leo’s leadership could mean for the future of LGBTQ+ people in the Catholic community.

Many individuals in the LGBTQ+ community who were beginning to feel welcome under Pope Francis might now feel excluded. The new Pope’s previous stance on social issues, including same-sex marriage and LGBTQ+ rights, casts doubt on his ability to continue the inclusive path that many believed Pope Francis had set in motion. For those who returned to the Church during Francis’s papacy, Pope Leo’s comments seem like a step backward.

That’s a little misleading. Modern popes generally refuse their salaries or donate the money to charity.

Also, Benedict donated the proceeds from his book sales to The Ratzinger Foundation.
