I was thinking about how a cool fantasy film could be made out of the gods of the Canaanite pantheon. We have El, Baal, Yahweh, and his Asherah. It would probably never be made because it would be offensive to Christians and Jews. There are plenty of fantastic elements in the OT, with fireballs coming from heaven and Elijah flying up in his chariot.

Offending Christians and Jews has never stopped a film being made before, I don’t see why it would stop this one. A bigger roadblock might be that not enough people are familiar enough with Canaanite mythology to make such a film financially viable. Boru

Movie about Canaanite gods? Isn't that already "Bible the Movie"? Or would it be just about gods without any humans?
If it's just about gods hanging out at their pantheon, what would they be doing?

To be fair though, Monty Python didn't have an easy time getting that movie made for that very reason.

Yeah, there can be scenes of the gods in the heavens interacting. We can also have them interact with Israel, Judah, and the prophets. Maybe I'll ask an AI to write an outline.
