The Abrahamic deity is the syncretic splinch of Yahweh and El. Yahweh doesn't even start out as a creator deity. He's a god of thunderstorms and raiders, roughly cognate with Thor.

Sorry, I thought that the talking animals were a giveaway.

So does Harry Potter.

Wow! Jeebus rode an ass. You've got a pesky dead messiah problem.
Quote:What evidence proves the Israelites invented Yahweh, and what evidence establishes that their accounts were fabricated?
We've got the archeological evidence that shows that Yahweh was a minor deity in the broader Canaanite pantheon under El. He's as embarrassing as any parochial deity that our species ever concocted to explain why the sky thunders.
On a side note, it's pretty hilarious to have a theist demanding hard evidence.

How about we just admit that it's obviously a fiction? A child could spot that, and I did at the tender age of eight.
Did you miss the bits with the talking animals? The part where Jonah gets swallowed by a fish and doesn't die? The clues in the narrative voice describing events that nobody witnessed? The demonic exorcisms? The snake-handling?
It's your ability to read ancient myths with clear absurdities and mistake them for reality that leads me to think that you're gormless.

Special pleading. Do you accept the Eddas as non-fiction? How about the Cath Maige Tuired? What’s your take on The Vedas?
When you understand why you don’t accept these ‘holy’ books, you’ll begin to understand why we don’t accept yours.

So does Harry Potter. And the later writings prove the divinity of the chosen one, showing that prophecies revealed in the early writings were fulfilled in Harry. All hail Lord Harry!
Or, that having access to the early writings, which the new testament writers did, allows the later authors to make it look that way.

You can’t have it both ways—if God is in charge of everything and causes everything, including free will, then God bears all the blame for everything, including all choices and if god prevent evil then he is also responsible for the evil he refuses to prevent. Obligation or no.
So, according to your reasoning, we're all puppets with no autonomy, and nothing we've ever done was actually of our own free will?
If God is responsible for every choice, then are you saying humans bear no responsibility for their own conduct?
Jesus Christ is King! But His authority over mankind does not mean He personally makes every decision for mankind.
The Govt rests on His shoulders, and He establishes laws and holds his subjects accountable. When a subject disobeys, that doesn't mean the king caused the disobedience.
Are you arguing that being sovereign means controlling every decision, or can you see the difference between having authority over people and allowing them to make their own decisions and take their own actions?
Why didn’t god give me a choice to be born or not?
It knew before my birth whether my final destination will be heaven or hell, right?

Is it really so hard to grasp that, while humans make decisions, your god chose to create humans in a way they are making choices how they do? If he created humans a different way, they couldnt probably make those bad choices. How is it that particularly christians insist on how all powerful their god is, but everytime his powers (and thus his resonsibility/accountability) is becoming a problem for you, he suddenly is not responsible for anything anymore. Its all humans and Satan who fuck the world up suddenly.
Make your mind up:
Either hes the "big guy" or not. If you insist hes the big guy, you gotta admit hes accountable for the effects of his actions and rules, even if those arent immediate. Every CEO on this planet knows that. According to your theology no CEO ever was responsible for anything that ever went wrong in his company. Hmm...makes me wonder, how many CEOs are closeted theists like you thinking having all the power, making all the rules does not entail being held accountbale for what happens in your company.
Your god, created evil, humans Satan and all the rules of the universe. If his show is going down the drain it must be pointed out, he had the power (and knowledge!) to create a different, better world. Im not saying he must/should, but he could. If you insist it is not necessary (or possible) for him, you are going to take at least one of his superpowers from him. Deal with that.

The NT was wrong. Jesus didnt fullfil a single prophecy from the OT.
I hereby identify an OT prophecy being about me: I visited jerusalem and rode a donkey. Bow down, fool.

3) If you're going to dismiss the biblical record, demonstrate where it fails historically. 1) So do the Spiderman movies. It's the claims about magic that are being disputed see.
2) So a book contains a bare claim, and then later makes another bare claim, that the first claim came true, and you think this an evidentiary standard worthy of mention?
3) The genesis creation myth, or the Noah flood myth - take your pick.

The Book of Mormon also identifies Prohpecies to be about Joseph Smith. We dont accept your NT claims about OT prophecies on the same basis as you reject the Book of Mormon ones.

1) OT mentions historical figures here and there, but all of the OT patriarchs are invented and have never existed, like: Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Samson, etc.
2) it's called retrofitting and interpretation.
But there are many prophecies that Jesus did not fulfill which he had to to be the messiah, like: He will be a great military leader, who will win battles for Israel. He will be a great judge, who makes righteous decisions (Jeremiah 33:15). But above all, he will be a human being, not a god, demi-god or other supernatural being.
The messiah will bring about the political and spiritual redemption of the Jewish people by bringing us back to Israel and restoring Jerusalem (Isaiah 11:11-12; Jeremiah 23:8; 30:3; Hosea 3:4-5). He will establish a government in Israel that will be the center of all world government, both for Jews and gentiles (Isaiah 2:2-4; 11:10; 42:1). He will rebuild the Temple and re-establish its worship (Jeremiah 33:18). He will restore the religious court system of Israel and establish Jewish law as the law of the land (Jeremiah 33:15). Etc.
3) see 1)
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
