7 Animals that are Evolving Right Before Our Eyes

RE: 7 Animals that are Evolving Right Before Our Eyes
Then please explain how natural selection, such as in the elephant story, isn't part of evolution?
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Common Descent would require millions of transitional forms because each unique structure would have to be constructed by natural selection acting on numerous generations of organisms (there are over 50,000 biological indicators between whales and land mammals alone). All the fossil record contains is a handful of highly disputed “transitional forms”. So in this regard the fossil record actually supports the creation position.
Please demonstrate how the fossil record "supports" the creation theory, I am agog.
Quote:2. The fossil record is interpreted assuming evolution (common descent) happened, so to use it to support evolution is circular. Many secularists even see this problem. "Contrary to what most scientists write, the fossil record does not support the Darwinian theory of evolution because it is this theory (there are several) which we use to interpret the fossil record. By doing so we are guilty of circular reasoning if we then say the fossil record supports this theory." - Dr. Ronald West (Kansas State University).
Since fossils were well known before evolution was conceived of and was in fact one of the clues that led to evolution it is not circular at all.
Quote:3. The fossil record demonstrates not so much a simple to complex history of life, but rather a record of how different organisms were buried which in no way is inconsistent with the creation position.

It is totally at odds with the cretinist account since the "Great flood" would have left a jumbled layer of all creatures that in 4500 years would not have had time to fossilize.
Quote:Many of the supposedly “simple” organisms have been shown to be just as complex as many of the supposed “complex” organisms at a genetic level.
So you don't understand how genetics works either, if nothing else you're consistent.
Quote:4. Lastly, many illustrations that unfortunately appear in textbooks are a gross misrepresentation of the facts. Many are just artist interpretations of what the organism looked like or are conveniently arranged in an order that does not represent how they are found in the column (i.e. Horse evolution).
examples please.

Quote:What about them?
The fact that mitochondria are the bacterial symbiotes in a eurkaryotic cell, how does your bible explain that?
Quote:Classical logic is a crucial tool for discerning truth, so I am a bit perplexed as to why you say I am “grasping at straws” when I appeal to it. If you can’t formulate your argument in a way that is logically valid, then perhaps it’s not the world’s greatest argument.
Classical logic only works if you have all of the facts in the argument.

Yes, if minor mutations were the only evidence for common descent you would have a valid argument.
But it's not the only evidence is it.

So to elaborate on your point.

Not only do I have a full stomach, I also have an empty pizza box, the receipt from the pizza delivery man and some melted cheese stuck in the carpet.

All indicitive of having eaten pizza.

So too Common descent(or evolution) has not just minor mutations, but it has the fossil record, genetics, biology(which only makes sense from an evolutionary perspective)
plus others that I'm sure people can think of.

If it was really the case then he'd at least be able to demonstrate a very BASIC understanding of what evolution is. He seems to think that a fish can just miraculously develop into a cow in no time at all. Highest achieving student? Kiss my ass.

Should we demand to see his university degree, like the tea party did with obamas birth certificate?

I think that asking for obama's birth certificate was quite bizarre under the circumstances, but i'm not a yank, so I don't know the ins and outs of why he was being asked to present it.

Asking for proof of an exceptional claim seems quite rational to me. But then again, this guy's a xtian, he's used to simply spouting bullshit and giving no evidence for it.

Guess I should just have faith that he's telling the truth eh? I mean it's not like a god believing xtian would ever lie to someone is it? Facepalm
