Yeah, he was way too young to die.

I watched a documentary that had both of them in it. It seemed to me as if Dunn was pretty disgusted by Novak's drug use. He was one of the people who tried to intervene and get him clean. Based on that alone, I lean toward no, but you never know. I was very disgusted with a friend's opiate addiction, yet I filled my own body with chemicals every day. Being opposed to someone's addiction does not mean that person doesn't use, because most drug users hang with other drug users.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

These guys have been pretty open about everything they do and they were not shy about talking about and displaying Novak's addiction. No one hid Steve-O's drug and alcohol battles. I doubt any problems Ryan had could have been hidden from the public, nor would they have bothered. It is not as if using drugs is any more shameful than shoving a toy car up your ass. Also, Dunn grew up in a different town than Novak. Novak moved to Pennsylvania and started hanging out with Bam because they were both skateboarders. Dunn was Bam's best friend, so he also hung out with Novak. Sure, drug users hang out with drug users, but they also hang out with people who have similar interests and old friends. I have a shit ton of friends who use drugs and I don't. My point is that people are going to presume a lot of shit, when the only clear thing about this is that he was speeding. Why jump on the drug and drunk bandwagon when no one has any idea if that shit was happening. I can only say that it was unlikely heavy drugs were involved, based on lack of evidence of that nature. They have been videotaping every fucking thing they do since they were like 14 or younger. I started watching the CKY videos and Bam's skate videos when I was about 18. In hours upon hours of footage, I saw evidence that some of them drank heavy and did drugs. Why would they publicize it for some and not others? Disclaimer: None of this is to say that he definitely didn't do drugs or at least dabble in them. I am only pointing out that he didn't appear to have a major drug problem, so there seems to be no reason to assume drugs were involved.
Thank you for putting that out there. I really had no idea and initially did make that sort of assumption.

I liked Ryan Dunn, he was one of the cool ones. He will be missed.
It looks like the WBC is at it again. Those fucking assholes.
http://www.godhatesfags.com/fliers/20110...uneral.pdf If those cowards actually try, I think they may find that the sort of "sinners" they are attacking this time are the sort whose idea of fun is a mosh pit. Good luck to them.
It may suck to say this, but I'd be OK with firebombing those fucks just to get their misbegotten genes off this planet.
It's been a long while, but I'll never forget the day that Freddie Mercury died. I love Queen in a big way, and it just took the wind out of my sails. I was flirting with and hoping to bed this archaeology student who was in the grad program with me. When I walked out of the Classics office to cry (which I do a bit more easily than many guys: Put it down to a really good upbringing and a truly loving mother who managed to save me from the slate faced male contingent), she followed me out and sat next to me, which was welcome. But when I explained what had me down she said, "Dude, he was a fag. This is God's payment for being gay." I walked away and never spoke to her again save for departmental necessities. Fucking ignorant cocksuckers.

I agree with Roger Ebert. I respect the man for his work in comedy, but I have no sympathy for drink drivers.
