Im back

RE: Im back
Welcome back. Smile

I said this in a different topic also, which is that God causes evil and suffering in this world to make us reflect on the good things in our life as well, because without any suffering in the world, we won't be able to truly appreciate the good things in life. There are opposite things in the world just like there is night and day, love and hate, ugly and beauty, hot and cold, happiness and sadness, and so on. These polar qualities exist to make us more aware of the dual nature of life. However, some people tend to focus more on the negative things in life which re-inforces their disbelief in God even more.

In Islam, it is also believed that God's forgiveness is greater on you when you are suffering from things like sickness, cancer, injury, natural disaster, etc.

Holy bullshit Rayaan! In all probability, God doesn't exist.
If he/she or it does, I don't share your worship of him/her/it.
Of course we can know good things in life, equally we experience bad things too. Equaly true, opposites exist...it's how we humans express our experiences. These things have nothing to do with superstition, they are just aspects of living a life.
And I don't give a tuppeny fuck about how you claim your improbable god chooses to grant forgiveness. Your imaginary god is as much a twat as the xtian imaginary one.

Rayaan, that was a shit answer spewed out of the assend of religion.

Now that I think of it, just as Rumor was a creature all ears and mouths, Religion can be characterized as all ass and back hair-just fugly.

To the OP, I am really sorry your partner is ill, and very happy to hear that s/he is atheist in the face of it. My mother, on her death bed (pancreatic cancer), though she was Catholic her whole life, when asked whether she wanted a priest to give her last rites, said, "It's worthless. I KNOW there is no god now." She died that day, free.
Trying to update my sig ...

I meant what I said entirely as a compliment to Statler's speed at responding to random threads in the Christianity forum Smile

Tacky takes too much time observing the situation to get there first.

This was a thread on Christianity, so Rayaan was right out.

Fr0d0 hasn't posted in a while Undecided So my otherwise first guess wasn't available.

Naturally leaving Statler as the next most likely Christian to post in this thread Smile

That was a good guess but your prediction was WRONG. Tongue

Sometimes I do reply in threads on Christianity, especially when the same questions can be asked to a Muslim, or if the topic has similarities to Islam.

I just didn't expect you to run in and post on a nonchristian issue Tongue

You're posting while asleep? Wow, that's a miracle then. But I think you're also hurting your brain at the same time (well, not like I actually care). Tongue
