Life outside earth

Life outside earth
Recently i came across an article, which stated that finally scientists are gathering evidences for the presence of life on mars. The 2005 researcher show that martian atmosphere has methane, which is unstable and can only be produced by organic activity. So chances are that there can be atleast microbial organism on mars. May be. May be not. I didn't find any other article saying this finding was a mistake or the article was a fake. So what does the atheists and theists here think about this? I believe there is life outside the earth for sure. I'd like to have you guys' opinions or if anyone has, the truth about this. Smile

Don't know about Mars but I understand that there is the real possibility of micro organic life on Europa. This is because it basically is a ball of ice and here on Earth in similar environments, life forms have been discovered in ice caves. But this would be the simplest form which is bacteria. It is actually remarkably adaptable to all terrains. It can exist in radioactive matter and virtual absolute zero and is to all intents and purposes practically indestructible. Which is just as well otherwise the human race would never have evolved.

Umm, no. It does not exist in radioactive matter -- it may 'exist' in the presence of radioactivity. Which is a far cry from 'has metabolic activity in presence of radioactivity'. Same goes for 'virtual absolute zero', which seems quite ridiculous of a statement. So much, I'm not sure where to begin. Confused

Life seems to get everywhere, even deep within the Earth. It does seem quite likely that, somehow, somewhere, something on Mars and Europa are merrily dividing and consuming resources.

Interesting.

The existence of life outwith this planet is quite possible. But life so close to our own is a fascinating idea that I would wish to be verified.

I recently read about the instrumentation package that will be used on the new Mars Curiosity rover. This package is the most advanced analytical package ever sent to another planet. It includes a mass spectrometer, a gas chromatograph, an alpha-particle x-ray spectrometer, a Chemcam which includes the first laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) system to be used for planetary science and a remote micro-imager (RMI)., an X-Ray diffraction/X-Ray fluorescence instrument, a tunable lazer spectrometer, a SAM instrument suite, which includes a Chemical Separation and Processing Laboratory, and a radiation assessment detector. These very sophisitcated instruments will give us an unprecedented look at the chemistry and any potential biochemistry that might exist on Mars. If there is life there, these instruments will give us the best chance to date of detecting it.

Life happen on a planet once so the odds are that it happens quite often. HOWEVER until there is actual evidence or that I shall restrict myself to saying that its quite likely.

We know there is life outside of Earth. They're called Maylegons. They talk to me in my sleep and they tell me they visit from the planet Factroigsh.

That would be Meklar scientists attempting to create porn out of human dreams. The end result of this experiment will prove whether we can mechanize the entire process by a quantum reorganization process of already collected human dreams... or not.

My opinion is that it would be interesting to find life outside the confines of our planet but I have not come across any scientific revelations that have confirmed it.

Here is one thing that I have found, a quote from the NASA web site:
“At the moment, life on Earth is the only known life in the universe, but there are compelling arguments to suggest we are not alone.” This claim is made by Neil deGrasse Tyson a well known astrophysicist in an article entitled The Search for Life in the Universe, Reflections on the Scientific and Cultural Implications of Finding Life in the Cosmos. Search the NASA website and read the rest of the article, very interesting stuff. Also note that Neil has a twitter account and has contributed to NOVA on PBS and also has several very interesting and educational vids on you tube.

The article that you refer to kriskiran seems to indicate that of the methane found, “…..if you find methane in an atmosphere, you can suspect there is life. It's not proof, but it makes it worth a much closer look."(italics are mine) I also have not found any other articles following up on these discoveries. It seems that nothing yet is conclusive but only possibilities.

Also, I have searched through NASA and not been able to find any conclusive evidence indicating possible life anywhere, even on Mars.

Oh, sorry Spatium, I just remembered your visiting friends. Welcome Maylegons: peace, love, namaste.
