Yes, because I don't see the need for such a clock either.

But small objects like wallets and wristwatches tend to get stolen in such a crowded place, unfortunately. And the clock glows at night, though, but still, not very useful.

When my husband came home from Iraq, he had dirt embedded in the creases of his skin for weeks. It simply wouldn't wash off. For some reason, that picture and Cinjin's comment about it just reminded me of that.

The Ka'aba is actually kind of big. It's just oddly shaped and freaking ugly. If there were a god, his house would be cooler than that, both literally and figuratively. Oh, and that stone thing grosses me out. They should put that on top of the tower so people will stop kissing and touching it. It reminds me of the cup sharing Christians do. Ick.

No, there's no real need for a clock tower in this day and age, but you can't deny that they look awesome.
