Open letter to House Republicans,
I regret to inform you that we will be unable to pay anymore in taxes this year.
This is because we've hit our arbitrarily set number that we call our household "debt ceiling". This made up number sets the maximum amount of cash that we allow ourselves to pay out.
We're trying to raise this completely arbitrary number but we can't come to any consensus. Consequently, we're informing you, as well as our other creditors, that we'll be deliberately defaulting on all our debts.
This may strike some as crazy but certain members of our household don't think there should be any problems with this. Any attempt to discuss the legal problems with this move, the possibility of eviction, liens against our home and shut off of services are dismissed as "scare tactics". I guess we'll find out.
We're sure you'll understand. We'll keep you posted on whether or not we can ever bring ourselves to increase our debt ceiling.
