I'm not voting in the poll for two reasons.
1. The question is stupid. Atheism is simply the lack of belief in the existence of deities. The only problem is the way society (especially in the U.S.) oppresses/suppresses the expression of that lack of belief. That is not a problem with atheism. It is a problem with religious bigotry. 2. I strongly suspect that "Godnose" was once known as "Godhead". (August 18, 2011 at 5:03 pm)Welsh cake Wrote:(August 18, 2011 at 4:52 pm)Godnose Wrote: A problem is something that exists in the mind. Happy you could interject with your opinion. My response was in support of an argument that that there is only a problem with atheism for those who are not atheists, which is directly in line with your topic. You can lash out for no reason, if you want, though.
I voted that there a some problems in atheism. I think I made it pretty clear what those problems were.

Of course, it may not always be possible for me to be aware of any particular name that I might be known by. As to why that should affect your decision as to whether to vote, that is entirely beyond my comprehension. (August 18, 2011 at 5:16 pm)Godnose Wrote: You are entitled to your opinion. To be fair, theists had a head start, and we have laws against the kind of tactics that they employed.

Are you aware of how silly that sounds? A. No one mentioned bigotry. The comment was that religious people are the only ones who have problems with atheism, for obvious reasons. It doesn't mean they have problems with atheists themselves, though many do. B. You think that atheism can only "extend itself" by having problems and that should reflect on the atheist community?
Believe Paul used the word bigotry.
