We have been HURTING under their ideas of economics since the 80's At some point, you'd think we Americans should take stock of these ideas and, as Dr. Phil might ask, "how's that working out for us?" The entire Bush administration should be used as a case study of how well conservative ideas work. During his entire 8 years, conservatives got everything on their wish list. Even after the spineless Dems took control of congress in 2006, they still rolled over to all his demands. "We want massive tax cuts for the rich to stimulate the economy!" *Check* "We want to deregulate the markets because they can regulate themselves." *Check* "We want to wage two wars without worrying about how to pay for them" *Check* "We're done with Afghanistan. We'll treat it as a side show operation." *Check* "We want to have free reign to spy on Americans" *Check* "We think deficits don't matter" *Check* "Let us torture people without consequence" *Check* Everything conservatives wanted was served up on a silver platter with a side order of delicious Democrat rollovers. And the results of the experiment are in: Tax cuts produced the worst job creation since Hoover. Deregulation produced the greatest meltdown since the stock market crash of 1929. A repeat of Vietnam in Iraq and Afghanistan Spying and torture failed to crush Al Qaida. In fact, they reconstituted. These activities did erode our Constitution and reputation abroad. They doubled the deficit and now are squawking about it. So conservatives, the entire Bush debacle is a demonstration of the failure of your ideas. You were tested and found wanting. The whole mess we're in right now is something you own. So stop whining and crying that you want your country back. You wrecked it.

Of course they dont give a shit about the little people..other than what they can squeeze out of them. All of their ideas only benefit the most rich, thats why they have to LIE so much about how beneficial their ideas are to everyone ("everyone" meaning "themselves"). Quite frankly the republibertarianazis all have one thing in common - GREED. They all agree to come together as a voting block with the sole purpose of making it easy to stab each other in the back and take advantage of each other. I wash my hands of them, and am now getting to where I will not even discuss politics or economics with them. RE: The french rich ask for a tax on...themselves

The ultimate conservative idea is Americans can be made to vote against its own interest in favor of the interests of a a skillfiul exploiting minority who plays up their insecurity, false pride, and desire for shallow flattery. In the present circumstances their idea is certainly proven up to a fraction bordering on majority. To cinch their case completely they only need to push the fraction from "almost majority" over an almost imperceptible hurdle to outright majority. One might have hoped that major economic disturbance would be sufficient stimulus for large fraction of Americans to more seriously and rigorously examine their own collective interests see through the efforts to exploit them through their own insecurity, false price and lust for flattery. But hitherto that has not proven to be the case. |
