God, No by Penn Jillette

God, No by Penn Jillette
Just finished reading it. It's not a deep analysis of atheism like Dawkins. Atheism doesn't come into play in most of his stories in the book. But it's funny and definitely worth the read.

I have heard good things. I will read it eventually... But, I have more important things to take care of... Preparing for the zombie apocalypse for example.

Not too badly... Got my chainsaw on a pole all ready to go... and A big supply of canned food... And several dildo guns.

True story: My 13-year-old son asked me to teach him to drive. I said he would have to wait until he was a bit older, like his brothers. He persisted, and I asked him to give me one good reason to teach him how to drive at 13. His response: "If there's a zombie apocalypse and you are busy fighting off zombies and couldn't get to the car and I was the only one with you, do you really want to die because you didn't teach me how to drive?" I gave him his first lesson that next weekend.

The same reason I'll give my daughter a 20 gauge for her 5th birthday. I just have to hope that the zombies are 2 years out.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I'll catch it when it comes onto paperback.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

I bet Penn would appreciate that a thread about his book turned into a discussion about preparation for the zombie apocalypse.
