A whole heap of religions counted me out when I was aged 12 or 13 and first started thinking seriously about fucking girls. Not that I thought I was or would be religious anyway, but ones that forbade pre-marital sex were definite no-gos. Can you imagine anything worse than having sex for the first time on your wedding night? Any of you remember your first time and how shit it was? Two virgins fumbling around, uncomfortable, embarassed, on your wedding day...fuck that.

Wiccans have handfastings which oftentimes are time-limited, or contain the phrasing "as long as both shall love," and as the State does not recognise Discordia, Discordians do not recognise the State. My own marriage was by a Discordian ceremony in Colorado, as Oklahoma where my wife and I lived has a constitutional requirement that marriages be performed by a "minister of the Gospel," so we took our money to a state that doesn't discriminate based on religion. Marriage is silly, I think. But then I also think every contract is silly. You can have me sign a contract if you like... but I pay it exactly zero heed
 At least the Wiccans have 'as long as both shall love' instead of ridiculous 'as long as both shall live'  But I find my love for things changes daily, and sometimes hourly. Would be a pain to break a marriage every few hours and restart it.

Marriages are expensive and can be bloody messy when the relationship goes sour. All the expenses of court when deciding who gets what. So yeah, I'm somewhat reluctant to marry.

Well, "as long as ye both shall love" is nebulous. "As long as ye both shall live" has a definite escape clause...lol.
