Science tells us that a person's sexual preference is largely due to a genetic predisposition. Since we know that, it pretty much means that God created homosexuals, so why does he hate them so much?

The human race is no longer in the condition in which it was created. The first humans were genetically perfect and if they had remained obedient to God they would never have died. But if you have read the third chapter of Genesis you know how the first humans sinned and as a consequence all of their descendants eventually die.

The results of their sin include all sorts of genetic defects, including those which are responsible for homosexual desires. God never condemns anyone for having these desires. It is only the act of homosexuality if forbidden. Everyone is tempted to do things contrary to God's will. Homosexuals differ from heterosexuals only in the kind of temptation they face. We can't help wanting to do things that are contrary to God's will but we can choose whether or not we will yield to these desires.

There are many people who face homosexual temptations who resist these temptations because they know that giving in to them would lead them to sin against God. Here is a site where you can find out more about some of these people:

Reading it will clear up a lot of common misconceptions about the Bible's teachings on homosexuality.

How can Christians stand behind the Bible, and yet not follow it's words? I am not at all saying that I want Christians to start putting homosexuals to death, but what I am saying is if you're not going to do it, take it out of the bible. It would be a dangerous thing if someone young/impressionable, or perhaps mentally ill were to read this and take it seriously.

The Bible contains many commands that express God's universal moral principles and are binding on everyone. But it also contains commands that were given to specific individuals and groups and were only to be obeyed by those to whom they were given. Israel was a nation established by God and like any nation it had the authority to execute people for violating its laws. The church isn't a nation as Israel was and has no authority to put people to death. In addition, Israel was given special laws that were never imposed on any other nation.
