As an American, I sometimes find it amusing that people see such differences between states, as topography or city vs country seems to define people more than borders - especially considering how many people move from state to state these days. Tristo ..ya know I've tried the whole "bombard my local MP with letters of complaint and proposals for a solution" and ya know what?? Nothing nada zip... So JUST who are these mofos serving??

Churches and other Christian organizations do things like provide mailing details of politicians and suggestions on how to word letters. May I ask who your local MP is? My Labor MP publicly voiced his opposition to same sex marriage in front of a crowd of GLBT teenagers and young adults protesting outside his electorate office. Considering his wife and friends support legalizing same sex marriage, I believe he is lying in order to please the sizable conservative catholic and evangelical Christians in my electorate. Interestingly enough a couple of days later the local university campus evangelical students club went to same place and voiced their support for the MP's stance on same sex marriage. Well he is retiring at the next federal election and I would not mind voting for a Liberal if he or she was more reasonable than this MP has been.

Ahhh ya gotta remember that a Labor pollie will only state what the party says he is ALLOWED to state. As to the other pollies...GFOK.
