Zakir Naik, Muslim Idiot.
#21
RE: Zakir Naik, Muslim Idiot.
Tesla considered monotheists to be ignorant and religion generally to be something for simple minds, Edison was an atheist, Gorrie was both a Mason and Episcopalian, neither Daimler nor Benz seem to have been particularly religious, Booth was not known to be religious, though the Wright Brothers were born into a religious family, they themselves seem to have distanced their work from those roots. I'm not sure where you're going with your contention that religion had anything to do with the modern inventions you have listed, ruholla.

Religion qua religion has had very little to do with great discoveries and inventions. Those who were religious and discovered or invented things are likely to have done so without any religion behind them (save when the churches have been funding them, whereupon certain godbranding issues tend to obtain).

if you don't mind me asking....what did you do in your 40-year working career

How did you contribute to society?

Firstly, how convenient of you talking about certain individuals like Daimler and Benz and not Henry Ford. From what I read on Tesla is that he comes from a very religious family (his father was a priest). So I doubt he's an atheist. Also from what I heard, Edison was NOT an atheist. I'm going to do a bit of research on these other individuals and make a comment-- to see if you're just conveniently lying to all the readers on this thread or you're saying the truth. Personally I think it's the former--after all, you don't believe that lying is immoral.

However as I pointed out before.....the sound economy (inline with God's principles) gave these individuals such opportunities to be innovative and invent life-changing products. Also you can't deny that the majority of the population back then was religious and NOT immoral and corrupt that would of distracted these great thinkers from achieving their potential.

Convenient? You mentioned inventions. I went to the inventors. How typically monotheistic to have to backpedal and ask for an interpreter.

Rubbish. You don't know it, because you are a goddiditite, but that's all you have with your connection between religion and productivity, and you've already switched time periods once to avoid getting pinned.

Done.
LOL. I love it when a faithbungler calls out an atheist on the grounds of honesty. You love to go ad hominem as soon as you're (easily) cornered.

Here's a cookie.

Are you like all the other people in the secular world, taking up superficial jobs of pushing paper, managing money, managing people, or administrating and just focus on making big money on buying glamor.

Or did you actually invest your time/money on researching about nature, science, trying to invent something, pushing human knowledge, perhaps selling a product and create jobs. Perhaps even making enough to give to charity or invest into new business ventures.

And don't reply with a stupid picture. If you have nothing relevant to say then just be patient and read our posts carefully.

Convenient as in selecting certain innovators/inventors and ignoring the other famous ones where almost all of them believe in God one way or another.

Also about Edison being an atheist--- a quick look at his wiki article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Edison )

CLEARLY shows that he's NOT. So next time when you're going to post a fact, double check if it is correct before posting it. We don't want the readers here to be misinformed.

Also what time-lines have I switched? I'm merely pointing out that the current western world is relatively less-productive than the pre-WW2 western world. Today the majority are non-religious, back then (in US at least), majority believed in God and were religous.

Um, you sent a bum link there, ruholla, and yes, he was. Read the interviews in the link I posted. Those'll help dispel your wishes. I know, I know, that takes time, and reading, but you are out on a limb here, and it is creaking precipitously.

Oh, by the by, the inventors I selected were the inventors of the list of things you gave.

Firstly, one has to understand that these inventors didn't merely created everything on their own! It took 1000s of years of human knowledge to create a life changing product. So we must look at other innovators/discoverers as well such as for example Faraday and Maxwell who both made great contributions to the study of electric engineering--which would later help Tesla in his work. Might I add, that both Faraday and Maxwell were very religious.

Secondly, speaking of my list of inventions...which invention was invented by Thomas Edison? The light bulb? Many argue that it was Sir Humphrey Davy who invented the light bulb first. However I'm not going to discredit you for listing him because he's an important innovator just like Henry Ford was for the automobile.

I'll go through the links when I have time.... although Wikipedia isn't a good source for current events/interpretations... IMO it's okay to use for our discussion. The profile page nicely lays out what religion he followed.
