It took 1000s of years of human knowledge to create a life changing product.

In 1928, Scottish Scientist Sir Alexander Fleming was studying Staphylococcus – the bacteria that causes food poisoning. He turned up at work one day and discovered a blue-green mould that seemed to be inhibiting growth of the bacteria. He grew a pure culture of the mould and discovered that it was a Penicillium mould. After further experiments, Fleming was convinced that penicillin could not last long enough in the human body to kill pathogenic bacteria, and stopped studying it after 1931, but restarted some clinical trials in 1934 and continued to try to get someone to purify it until 1940. The development of penicillin for use as a medicine is attributed to the Australian Nobel Laureate Howard Walter Florey – he shared the Nobel Prize with Fleming and Ernst Boris Chain.

Are you like all the other people in the secular world, taking up superficial jobs of pushing paper, managing money, managing people, or administrating and just focus on making big money on buying glamor.

Or did you actually invest your time/money on researching about nature, science, trying to invent something, pushing human knowledge, perhaps selling a product and create jobs. Perhaps even making enough to give to charity or invest into new business ventures.

I served as infantry in a NATO Peacekeeping mission that culminated in the creation and recognition of a new country by keeping (largely religious) nutjobs heads in their bunkers for fear of the assault rifle their god apparently has no power over. I went from this to overseeing prototype circuit manufacturing in support of the same. Then I decided I'd like a change of pace, joined a state and federally funded conservation organization that was researching vertical hydroponic agriculture. I donate to food kitchens regularly and run a small consulting gig (mostly from my PC).

If your god has advanced scientific knowledge, and a superior grasp of economics etc...then why are all of his countries shitholes? Why aren't muslims sweeping the nobel committee year after year? There is no invention anywhere that works on magic. Allah explains nothing. You have nothing to show anyone for all of your claims. Nada.

And I work for a private company... unlike a fellow poster here, who spent his life working for government jobs that is funded either by stealing form the people (through taxation) or through inflation. He's proud of working for an organization that goes into other countries to create chaos and havoc.

I address this in several posts. You have to understand, that since the Islamic golden age, there hasn't been a true Islamic nation/community that would follow an Islamic approach to the economy. Free-market and decentralized banking where money is backed by a commodity and that lending does not come with interest charging. Unfortunately today no "islamic" nation can implement this form of an economy because either (1) the leaders are corrupted and looking after themselves or (2) they are afraid of being isolated by the international community who want the USD to be the common trading currency.

If an Islamic nation was to have the guts and implement this type of an economy, I promise you that the people there would be living like the Jetsons. Inventions that we can't imagine would be pumping out on a daily basis.

Unfortunately all the countries around the world are following (some are forced) the economic policies of John Keynes. Who was an atheist!

Seriously? You actually think that working for the government does in no way contribute to society? Heck, it sounds like you do the only good, honest and decent job on this planet.

So, if I say that I worked as a nurse, for the city and the state, you say that it didn't matter, because only a nurse in the private sector would actually contribute to society? And if I say heavy taxation is alright, and I don't mind that a big chunk of my pay is taken every month, because I know that there are people out there who is in more need of the money and that I like that we have free universities and health care, you are going to point a finger in my face and yell "Socialist! Communist!"?

The organization you're talking about would be based upon greed, which ensues that the poor stay poor and that the rich can earn even more money. Now, I agree that I cannot approve of corrupt politicians, who try to get as much money as possible from the people, but won't do anything good for them in return, but the private sector you represent is driven by greed, the more money you can help the owner make, the better. All gain for society cannot be measured in money, you know.

These are valid points, I will hopefully address all of this in a special thread that discusses Islam's true viewpoint on the economy.

Also please note that I was discussing economic influence at the federal level. History has shown that the private sector is more effective and efficient in achieving certain projects than the public sector.

Also, there is nothing wrong with taxing at the local/micro level where the people can have a better and more direct access to their politicians so they can discuss any issues they're facing. At the federal level it is a lot more difficult and it it allows the political arena to be more corrupt and greedy.
