Gotta love those sneaky Scientologists.

RE: Gotta love those sneaky Scientologists.
No one and nothing is above criticism or ridicule. The funny thing is that the more they come out all guns blazing trying to censor people from criticizing or poking fun at them, the more oversensitive, insecure, intolerant, defensive and overzealous they appear. Hopefully their heavy handedness makes people stop and think twice before being taken in by their hogwash.
"When did I realize I was God? Well, I was praying and I suddenly realized I was talking to myself." Peter O'Toole.

Well, considering that it's a cult of personality, and that the current personality in charge is (by all accounts) a sociopath, it's less than surprising.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Or don't forget the favorite dodge:

*Militant Muslim blows up a building* "All Muslims are violent terrorists!"
*Militant Christian blows up an abortion clinic* "He's not a real Christian!"
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

*Scientologists plan and execute a raid against the IRS*

Not just Scientologists, but people of all religions. Ever make a joke about Jesus in front of Christians? Remember the Muslim outrage over pictures of Mohammed published in a newspaper? If they're so secure in their faith, who cares if someone mocks their god? If they're right, their god will either strike them down or when they die they'll burn in hell for eternity. I think the anger comes from the fact that their gods are terribly impotent at striking down those who mock them.

These are the same people who record all confessions to use as blackmail against any former members criticizing the church.

These are the same people that copyright their 'holy' books so people can't read them.

Are we surprised?

Yeah, after he'd eagerly participated for years in taking the mickey out of every conceivable group SP targeted...! When his beloved Scientology was taunted he stomped out like a petulant kid. Big Grin

But hey! Nothing bad about the deceased! Angel

These are the same people who purchased both a cruise ship and a decomissioned naval cutter to form their Sea Org. One boat they use to drag people miles offshore and fuck with their heads in isolation and privacy, haven't heard them explain why they need the other (officially that is).

The people who bought the entire town of Clearwater through shells and once in possession of the city began to drive public policy.

The people who commit suicide so regurlarly as to make the copyrights on their holy texts pointless due to tearful yard sales run by greiving parents.

It's a nasty little cult, and having said that I should probably begin looking for legal counsel.
