Life is awesome - argumentum ad populum

Again, do you think video games can cure cancer?

Everyone's life works like this, it's the suffering the person has been through, the underlying emotional damage, the beliefs the you have attached to your self-worth, we may experience things differently on a subjective level, but we all have the same emotions, we all feel pain, we all go through hardship. You have to realise that your parental and societal conditioning can't be undone just by reading my posts, you have to practice the method and identify the language you're using that causes you to see life through the four lenses.

Video games assist in curing cancer among other things, I don't believe trying to cure cancer with chemotherapy is the right way to go about it in most cases.

As a result of cognitive dissonance, "following the purchase of an expensive item ...
People are biased to think of their choices as correct, despite any contrary evidence."

The theory of cognitive dissonance proposes that people have a motivational drive to reduce dissonance. They do this by changing their attitudes, beliefs, and actions. Dissonance is also reduced by justifying, blaming, and denying.

This guy is a classic.

Wow. I'm leaving this waste of time of a conversation.

You're not understanding, these are my beliefs, what conflicting ideas am I holding simultaneously? This method is proven, I spent 6 weeks in this retreat, I saw people from all walks of life, I cured my own problems via this technique. Why don't you try applying it to yourself?

I used the word assist to imply that video games can't cure your cancer alone...

Meh. He's pure troll. Picking which things to ignore and only attending that which serves his ends.

And Vagysaur, whoah, "fucking deluded bitch" ? You were going great until you lost your cool here. What would your granola therapy folks say about this? I think you should go out to the yard and fetch your cool, I think it must have drifted out there. If you're trying to persuade, angry invectives aren't going to help.

Yes, it was unnecessary anger and criticism, I apologise. I just wish people would be more open-minded and try to actually apply the method to their own lives instead of calling it dogma.

Can you specify the things which I have ignored other than the criticism, anger and resentment that I've been receiving throughout this thread?

Well, this is, I think the first you've responded to me, so perhaps I felt left out. However, your lack of comprehension of how your paying a lot of money for this education sets you up for cognitive dissonance demonstrates clearly that you don't understand the first thing about psychology; your biases might be causing a blind spot specific to this case, but it's hard not to see it if you know what to look for -- which it sounds like you don't.

Anyway, I would like you to respond to the following:

1) When I feel the radio is sending me messages, do you believe that non-pharmacological treatments can eliminate this symptom?

2) What is the mechanism involved and how do your treatments impact this mechanism -- specifics, please.

2) what scientific studies demonstrate this to be true?

How about the cognitive dissonance of the conflicting societal beliefs and the method that I'm preaching?

I've never come across this disorder before, I can only sympathise with you feeling sorry for yourself. Anything that can help you alleviate what you're experiencing is worth putting effort into.
