he was better than Nicholson's joker imo
Personally, it's not God I dislike, it's his fan club I can't stand.

I think it was a brilliant joker...

But Nicholson's joker is a total classic..

I think that Ledger's joker totally made the film way better though - without him I think it would have been very weak - I think he did an excellent job, very sinister and cool (in a perverted, sick and twisted kind of way, that kind of cool, lol - the "Bad guy" kind of cool).

For you I'm sure it did, I didn't rate it ... am I not allowed to like or dislike something because I like or dislike it?

Ultimately there is no such thing as right or wrong when it comes to aesthetics.

RE: Movies
I've not seen so many movies lately. There have been so much icehockey and football on TV. But I saw for some time ago "V for Vendetta" didn't have any high expectations of it. Have heared that it was overrated and that people thought it was good only because it was supposed to be good.

But I've acctually enjoyed it. It was perhaps not the absolutly best movie I've seen, perhaps one of them. Good acting and a good story. Reminding me of 1984, which I haven't read or seen. But I've heared what the plot are.

I also have seen some others lately, but I don't really remember them.

Of course you are allowed to like/dislike something. I just was curious as to why you thought Hedger's joker was worse than Nicholson's. You used the word "VASTLY" in your original comparison, and that's quite a strong word, so I thought you might have some good reasons for disliking him.

How do you justify a preference? I just didn't like Ledger's joker, too dark, I liked Nicholson's coz he was far more insane (lunatic) to my mind ... but then, as I said, I prefer Burton's vision far more anyway including Keaton's "almost as bad as the bad guys" Batman. Nolan's Batman films are quite competent, they just don't particularly interest me ... it's a bit like Superman, I still prefer Reeves (even though Hackman was awesome, I admit I really do like the new Lex Luthor).

Absolutely.Nor are you required to defend or even explain your position to anyone, most especially for daring to dissent from the popular view.

Me? I love Ledger's joker,as the best of the lot. (he had me after the "disappearing pencil trick") BUT, it's a movie for fuck sake, not the meaning of life. I don't argue about movies, beer or sports and avoid people who do..

Indeed, I was just curious as everyone I have talked to loved Ledger's joker. It was odd to find such an opposing viewpoint.

That was an awesome scene, it made the whole movie for me.
