There was nothing smug about what I wrote. I honestly thought you were being a man and owning up to some of the blame. Now I understand that you were simply saying whatever you thought would get me to drop the subject. I find this behaviour repulsive.

People apologise because they have something to apologise for; they have something to feel sorry about, and want to rectify it. People apologise because it is the right thing to do. People who apologise just to "stop the fucking arguing" aren't doing it right.

You can drop it if you want; I've done nothing wrong towards you that merits an apology; all of my wrongs were aimed at bozo, and I've apologised for them. I'm not going to drop it; as far as I'm concerned, you wronged me, and then when I finally got an apology and said it was "gracious" of you, you turned around and explained how it wasn't an apology after all.

Now you question my manhood right after saying that you werent smug?

Your response to my apology was smug. Just like your apology to him was forced. If it wasnt forced I honestly believe you would not have done so...and in no way would I question your man hood about such a thing regardless.

And I DID mean that I might have been wrong in reading your posts, but your smugness has made me think otherwise.

Then i turned around and SHOWED you the definition of apology and that I DID apologize according to it...and then I offered up a way for us all to get out of the argument by admitting I may have been wrong...your smugness ruined that and yet we are STILL arguing over it.

My response to your "apology" was to say you were gracious. I then clarified some of my previous statements, since you'd just admitted to misunderstanding them.

My apology was not forced; I retracted my statement calling him a borderline fascist, and I made attempts at trying to bring the discussion back to where it started. I'd have thought that would have been proof enough that I was apologetic, but bozo said he didn't think I was, so I made sure to put my apology in writing. At no point did bozo demand my apology; I offered it to him freely, and requested his in return.

The fact still remains that you made an apology, said you might have been wrong, admitted that you were partially to blame (by saying you misunderstood my posts). I said it was gracious of you to do such a thing, and instead of leaving it there, you suddenly out of the blue decide that what you said wasn't what you meant after all. You also admitted to saying it just to get me to drop the subject.

Now you're arguing about the semantics of what an apology is. It's quite simple rev, an apology is something you say when you are truly sorry about the things you've said / done. I feel sorry for what I said to bozo, so I apologised. You on the other hand, don't apparently feel sorry for saying I advocate the killing of children.

I have looked back from the beginning of this thread and the trouble between you and I started with me not instantly getting a joke post ( if you remember I did ask if it was a wind up ).
It has been all trading insults from that point.
I accept your apologies tendered but I am struggling to understand what you want me to apologise for. I truthfully cannot apologise for whatever suspicions of you I hold, nor can I for raising a pertinent one in a thread where you raised the " golliwog-in-the-window " case and accused me of favouring censorship when the issue was protection of the individual under the law of the land.
If calling you an arsehole has upset you, then I apologise .
Apart from that, what are you asking of me?

I tried to bow out and let it go, but Adrian REFUSES to do it.

Of course I refuse to do it. I refuse to do it whilst you continue to be disingenuous and reverse your position, as well as attacking me again and again.

Painting yourself as the bigger man here isn't going to work. Anyone can read this thread and see that after I called you "gracious" and accepted your apology, you decided to keep on attacking me, including your continual indecisiveness on whether or not you were at fault. If you don't consider yourself at fault anywhere, then your apology is meaningless.
