God - a study in pointlessness.

Can anyone tell me why, if there is a God, he created the world in the first place. It would be a bit self-indulgent of him, surely. Wouldn't he have to be some sort of a power crazed Voyeur to do any of this in the first place? Why would a just and loving God create a world and then watch its creatures suffering for millennium after millennium.

What the hell was God thinking? I have yet to hear a convincing argument advanced about this. Perhaps non atheists could take a shot at answering this question

Everything that God does is love. If you don't agree that it is love you are simply wrong. God created everything with pure love in mind. This includes cancer, Ebola, Bot flies, flesh eating bacteria and everything else. You aren't smart enough to understand God's love and his plan for everything. How dare you question the all mighty lord. It is like an ant questioning Einstein. Just accept his will and give praise to him. Wherever you are and whatever you are doing just stop and praise him and praise him and praise him.

I really like the idea of the 'demiurge' much more; him not being really good and flawless like the real God, who is beyond the material. But I'm not a non-atheist, so I should just shut up.

When we were kids, we used to dump a nest of black ants on a nest of red ones 'cos we were bored. And watched them war with each other. I grew up, though. Seems like God hasn't.

No one can answer this, as no one knows the mind of the hypothetical god.
Some will try to make some stuff up... stuff that may seem reasonable to them, but... in the end... who knows?!
