Windows 10 to be free upgrade for Windows 7 and 8.1

RE: Windows 10 to be free upgrade for Windows 7 and 8.1
Hey for those who use the DigitalRiver ISO files, I finally found an actual comment by a Microsoft employee regarding them here:
  • Vivian Samartha (Microsoft) Wrote:Hi,

The Windows 7 ISO download links provided in this thread were originally made available for a specific program. We’ve learned that the resource is valuable for customers beyond the initial intent.

While the links are not intended to be a permanent solution, the download links will continue to be available as we assess potential alternatives. We recommend users save the ISO locally if you anticipate needing it again in the future. You will, of course, be required to have a valid Windows 7 product key to activate Windows, and will be subject to the conditions of the license associated with the product key you purchased.

    Thank you.
I've always found it odd that Microsoft doesn't offer the ISO files directly from their own website for all customers.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

That's the NT kernel version, not the OS version.

You sure about that? Might have been the first Microsoft-branded retail boxed MS-DOS, but I worked in a computer store around 1982-1984 and distinctly recall retail boxed DOS 3.x (and later 4.x upgrades). No, not PC-DOS from IBM.

I just installed the latest build (9926) of Windows 10 beta on one of my computers. Damn, it's ugly. The windows themselves are the worse. The so-called modern icons might have looked okay in the Windows 3.1 era. I'm trying hard to figure out how going from high-resolution, 3-D, colorful icons to stick figures is progress. If the final build looks anything remotely this bad, I won't care how well it works. I'll stick with Windows 7 until the end.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
