RE: JW looking clarity followup
Quote: 1. Why would this almighty god be subjected to what a human demands as proof?

Look, this is your delusion and you can make it do whatever the hell you want it to.  Failing evidence ( proof is a whole other standard) I see no reason to regard your particular deity as more likely than any of the others which the human imagination has invented across the millennium.  Remember, as the saying goes, we are both atheists.  I simply believe in one less god than you do.

Of course an almighty God in general needn't be possible to prove (whatever that means in detail). It's just not a very plausible proposition and hence probably wrong. There are so many other unprovable things you don't believe which are more plausible. It's a matter of thought hygiene: If you believe everything you can't disprove, you end up with an infinite pile of contradictory garbage.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Because I don't believe shit that doesn't have evidence.

Quote:2. Does gods creation not make him apparent?

No. There are naturalist explanations for the Universe that make far more sense than the Christian ogd.

Quote:3. If god popped up one day to make himself readily known as existing, would all people serve him any way?

I would acknowledge his existence, but I would refuse to worship such a monster as the god of the Bible is reputed to be.

Quote:4. If gods purpose as I have been taught, is that one day the earth will be a paradise like state with no evil. Back to its original Eden conditions. Proving that Satan, Adam, and Eve were wrong to reject gods sovereignty and humans are not capable of ruling themselves... how would it serve his purpose if people worshipped him out of fear of him killing them rather than from their hearts?

It wouldn't serve his purpose at all.  That's merely one more contradiction in the Christian fable.

I find it interesting that most atheists seem to be of the opinion that they wouldn't worship Yahweh, or perhaps any God, if they were real yet everyone who does think they are real appears to worship them.

I'm not sure what to conclude from that.

Then why are you here? You've claimed to be open to either idea (gawd or no gawd) but you don't want to engage? You just want to tell us what you believe and hear nothing in return? Either you're open to the idea that there is no gawd or you're not. Which is it?

The argument against god that there is no proof

My few thoughts on this are as follows, 1. Why would this almighty god be subjected to what a human demands as proof? 2. Does gods creation not make him apparent? 3. If god popped up one day to make himself readily known as existing, would all people serve him any way? 4. If gods purpose as I have been taught, is that one day the earth will be a paradise like state with no evil. Back to its original Eden conditions. How do you love God from your heart unless you know something about God?
How do you know something about God unless you have some evidence for God's personality, attributes, etc?

You might be able to love things that you do have evidence about - say cats.
Then after you die, God might tell you that cats are his favorite animal, so you were loving God from your heart when you loved cats.
That's the best you can do IMO without some knowledge of God based on evidence.
(Of course the evidence doesn't need to be scientific quality, but it's got to be something.)

1.) Because he needs to reach out to us for us to know there's something to reach to. 2.) If you get a brain and view the world as a terrible state for billions, you come away thinking, "Maybe if there are billions of orbits we just got lucky." 3.) I'd worship the shit out of him. 4.) The heart isn't the brain. We need evidence! There is zero chance of the world being less than billions of years old. I'm sorry if that offends you. It offends me when your people knock on my door telling me that this god exists.. this Jehovah god.. that Jehovah's have no proof of.. this god that has zero chance.. it offends me because there are sick and/or sad people that will listen to this "divine" crap.. that it really is a miracle that someone let a JW into their home. I hate you.

1. If a human is making a claim or having an experience that he or she thinks might be "about god," why wouldn't it be subjected to the same demands as other human claims and experiences? There's literally no other option but to judge it as a human being, using the most reliable human methods.
2. No. "God's creation" begs the questions: Is there a God? Is it created?
3. Serve him? Why would I do that? You observe the Sun pop up every morning, and the Sun is the nearest thing you can observe to a deity. Do you "serve" the Sun? That's an odd question, don't ya think?
4. What? I don't understand the question.
